Meet Natasha
My background has always been rooted in creativity and well-being, I feel this is the very essence of what sound therapy has to offer. It is both the creative practice of working with sound in order to create atmospheric immersive experiences for participants to explore. Whilst simultaneously having a beneficial effect upon our nervous systems and energetic bodies. Sound therapy has been proven to help take us out of fight and flight into a state of homeostasis, whereby we are better able to regulate our sympathetic nervous system. Leading to reduced states of stress and anxiety. I truly believe sound can be used as medicine to help heal our minds and bodies.
I practiced different forms of martial arts from the age of eight through to adulthood and have had a passion for movement and physical fitness all of my life.
I initially studied a BA in contemporary art at Goldsmiths University London but after many years studying fine art I decided that I wanted to follow my love of plants and nature and went to work with the British Trust Conservation Volunteers. This led to further study within the field of horticulture and I eventually set up my own successful business working with plants.
After many wonderful years working outside in nature and after the birth of my son, I retrained as a sports massage therapist , Pilates instructor and personal trainer.
I studied Swedish and shiatsu massage however I specilaise in sports, deep tissue massage and cupping therapy. I currently have a sports massage practice on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.
After several years working hands on with many people, I realised that massage was very effective at relieving physical symptoms of pain and stress, however in terms of relieving stress and anxiety on a deeper emotional level I felt there must be a more effective gentler way that didn’t involve physically manipulating the body.
After my first experience at a sound bath - I was taken aback by the effect that sound and vibration had on my body and emotional state. And so I decided to attend a gong workshop to learn more. This led me discover other ways of creating healing sounds and vibrations and I have grown my own sound medicine practice using many instruments.
I became certified sound practitioner and continue on my own journey of discovery, learning more and more while creating immersive sound journeys for others to also experience.
UNY - United as one - when we participate in a sound bath or therapy session there is a virtuous circle of exchange that occurs.
The person or people receiving the sound experience benefit, but also myself as the sound session host also benefits from the vibrations and meditative state that I occupy in order to deliver the session.
It is a symbiotic relationship that echoes the way in which nature gives and receives and supports us in our evolution on the Earth.
